Bob, born Robert Bruce Hardesty on October 31, 1954, tragically lost his life on April 28, 1981, at the young age of 26. His untimely death left a void in the lives of all who knew him.
Originally from Walteria, a neighborhood in Torrance, California, Bob's roots ran deep in the community. He attended Walteria Elementary, where he made lasting friendships, and later graduated from South High School in 1972. Bob's presence was felt by his family and classmates alike, as he had a natural ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him.
Bob had a passion for adventure and dirt bike riding in California. He was skilled in mechanics and successfully rebuilt his brother's Lotus vehicle. Music, especially rock, was another passion that fueled Bob's spirit.

On Tuesday, April 28, 1981, a horrifying incident took place in Redondo Beach, CA, that forever changed the lives of those who knew Bob Hardesty.
Bob and his girlfriend, Kim, were in for the evening at his home on Avenue A near Prospect when an intruder entered the house. In a brutal act of violence, Bob was shot and killed instantly. The intruder managed to escape and has evaded capture ever since.
As the forty-year anniversary of Bob's murder came and went, the pain and sorrow felt by his loved ones only deepened. The absence of justice has been a constant burden, casting a shadow over their lives. They continue to mourn the loss of a vibrant young father whose potential was tragically cut short.
